1. Preparing

呈现莎翁名言“There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes.”

2. Understanding

3. Reconstructing

4. Expressing

Her lips were smiling. Grandma took her to the heaven….

呈现Word Bank 3,包括get along well withbe friendly tohave a happy lifewarm-hearted等词(目的是给学生搭建写作的词语支架)。

The Little Match Girl

On New Year’s Eve, it was snowing heavily, and the weather was terribly cold. Everybody was going home except the little match girl.

“Please buy some matches! Please buy some matches!” cried the girl. But nobody bought her matches.

When she was crossing the road, a carriage came quickly toward her. She was nearly hit by the carriage. The little girl fell onto the ground. Her slippers were thrown away. A boy came, picked up her slippers and said, “Good! They are so big. They can be my doll’s cradle.” Then he ran off with them.

The little girl was walking with bare feet. It got darker and darker and it snowed more heavily, but she hadn’t sold one match yet. She didn’t dare go home. She was afraid of her father.

She tried to warm herself. She took one match and lit it. She saw a warm stove. She held her hands happily over it. But soon it disappeared and the match died away. Then she lit a second match. This time she saw much delicious food on the table. A sweet-smelling goose! Then she lit a third match. This time, a beautiful Christmas tree appeared. Hundreds of candles lit up the green branches. This Christmas Tree was much larger and brighter. Soon the light of the match went out. However, the Christmas candles burnt brighter and higher. They were rising up and became beaming stars. Suddenly one of the stars fell from the heaven. “A person will die,” she said to herself. She thought of her grandma’s words. “When a star falls from the heaven, a person will die on the earth.” Quickly, she lit another match and this time her dear grandma appeared in the light. “Grandma,” cried the girl, “take me with you. I know you will leave me as soon as the match goes out.” She lit all the matches and asked her grandmother to stay with her. The old woman took the little girl and the two began to fly in the light, higher and higher, till they reached the place where there was neither cold nor hunger nor pain.

The next morning, the little girl was found dead in the snow. Her lips were smiling….
